This online workshop explores the timeless guidance that myth offers us through the terrain of initiation. Lying within our old stories are living maps—ancient teachings that illuminate how we might navigate the transformative journeys demanded by life.
We will begin by asking: What is initiation? Not merely a symbolic rite of passage, initiation is an elemental process—a descent, a dismemberment, a reshaping. It is not something we choose, but something that happens to us. Traditionally, the land itself initiates us, yet this movement cannot complete without the unseen help of allies from the otherworld. While the initiatory path remains alive, our modern world has lost the cultural vessels once tasked with holding and guiding this journey. As a result, many initiations remain suspended, unfinished.
And still, the forces that have always shaped true adulthood persist. They call to us—through illness, loss, longing, dreams—inviting us to become humans who feed more than just ourselves.
In this session, we will explore these themes through the telling of a myth that carries the deep, living currents of initiation. Together, we will listen for the soul-threads it offers and consider how we might once again walk the path toward initiated adulthood in a time of great forgetting.
